your story was very inspiring. I am in the process of doing a nearly 3000 miles walk from NC to San Francisco CA. I love how you did the live feed. would you mind sharing with me how you did it, pros and cons, and if there is anything you would do different if you were to do it again.
I see your original route did not go thru Sheboygan, Wi. but you went there anyway. How’d that happen ? I’m originally from there but have been in Branson Missouri the past 10 years so it was a nice trip down memory lane. You missed my Mom’s house buy 2 blocks on Sheboygan’s north side when you were going past McDonalds.
Just read about you in the Sheboygan Press (Sheboygan, WI) as you walked through our county. Nice article and wow what a journey. I just wanted to say I saw you walking today and you waved. I didn’t think anything of it as I thought you just were a friendly person waving, not a person that walked so far. Way to go and stay safe on your journey! You are almost there!
Well of course, you missed God’s country, rural Lafayette county, Missouri. I saw you at my family reunion today.
It was nice to be included in your family reunion! I bet that will be my only family reunion on this trip.
hi don,t know where you are. Hope you are where it is cool. Dodge City is very hot now. 100 to 103 about every day. Have a good time and stay safe. Oland
Hi it was nice to see you in Dodge City Kansas. We were haveing a coke when you stopped
It was nice to meet you too!
If you are traveling through St. Joseph Missouri we would enjoy hosting you. I am Amy Graves’ Mother — she is married to Anne Cowie (MFA in Boston). Anne thought you (and we) would enjoy meeting you. We are older so won’t be walking but we would love to have you stay here overnight.
I will be going through St. Joseph. We’ll have to meet up. Not sure exactly when I’ll be there… too many factors, especially weather, to consider. But thanks for the offer and let’s stay in touch.
Zoom in and you can see the first set of photos from Tucson to Mammoth. More to come, but no time today. Need to get on the road and walk 17 miles…
A suggestion? Perhaps Laura could add a pushpin or photo to the Google Map each day, to mark her progress? It would be cool to see a picture of her hosts each evening.
Thanks. Working on that. I have the photos, but need help from my web designer on how to post them.
